This project consists of two websites, one desktop and one mobile, designed in Figma to present a personal CD collection through distinct but related experiences. The mobile site displays 20 CDs using a minimal system based on the average color of each album cover, emphasizing clarity and denotative information. The desktop site presents the same collection in a more expressive format, pairing each CD with a painting created in response to the music to explore mood and interpretation.
Process & Learning:
The design process focused on adapting the same content to two platforms with different priorities. The mobile experience required restraint, hierarchy, and legibility, while the desktop experience encouraged a layered and expressive approach. A key challenge was maintaining cohesion between the two while allowing each to function independently. Through this project, skills were developed in responsive thinking, platform specific design, and using visual systems to communicate both informational and emotional qualities within a curated digital collection.
