Movement Billboard
Billboard Design /// Typography /// Motion Graphics
- W/ Nidhi Srikanth, Owen La Belle, & Ava Quail
Description:
This project involved designing a promotional billboard for Paxahau, a Detroit-based production company, to advertise Movement, the city’s annual techno music festival. Created during a junior-year Brand Strategies course, the billboard needed to capture the energy and cultural significance of Movement while remaining clear and impactful at a large scale. Working within a competitive classroom setting, four teams developed distinct visual approaches, each interpreting the festival’s identity and audience in different ways.
Process & Learning:
The process included multiple rounds of ideation, critique, and refinement, with regular presentations to Paxahau representatives. Collaborating as a team, we translated concepts into a concise visual system tailored for outdoor advertising. We balanced creative ambition with the technical necessity of working within established brand guidelines. This project strengthened my experience working with clients, responding to feedback, and meeting practical communication goals.
